There are many reasons why this project is near and dear to my heart but most importantly women need to exist in photographs. The majority of women spend their lives behind the camera and sometimes hiding from the camera because they think they are not pretty or skinny enough. Trust me I know that feeling firsthand.
Like you, I am your typical everyday woman. Juggling a crazy busy life as a wife, a mom to three kids (college sophomore and twin high schoolers) and caretaker for my mom who lives with us.
My mom is 87 years young and we had a health scare last year with her. I thought I was going to lose my mom and you know the first thing that came to mind.... I am a photographer and do NOT have a formal portrait of my mom. Shame on me! A surge of emotions came over me. I would have never forgiven myself especially as a photographer.
Well, my heart is very happy and content. Just last week, I photographed not only my mom but also my two sisters who are both 50 plus. These images are truly priceless. This was the first step and I have many more family portraits to take to complete our legacy to pass down. Just like our ancestors.
My family is very fortunate to have amazing photographs even some on tin of our ancestors. Photographs become a legacy for you, your children, grandchildren and the generations to follow. Scroll down and check out these very beautiful, old photographs.
So this is my why.... Let me create a legacy for you and your family.
My Maternal Ancestors from the 1800's and early 1900.s
These images are priceless and have given my family a look into our family's past to put faces with names. Some are even printed on tin! Just gorgeous. The images I have created of family have been printed and we now have a legacy for our generation to pass down. Working on photographing each family in a formal portrait setting and will continue to add to this page. Hope you check back. Let me know you create a legacy for you and your family!
