To my fellow ladies 50 plus,

What is your super power?

As a woman 50 plus, 54 to be exact, I know my super power and I am not afraid to use it.

What is my super power you ask?

Connecting and building the confidence in women 50 years old plus. I can relate firsthand. I treat all the ladies who step into my studio how I want to be treated. We are no longer 25 years old but many of us still think we are. I do most certainly. But then I look in the mirror. I didn't have the wrinkles and the pounds on me then that I do now. When I walk down the street, people are looking at my 24 yo daughter, not me anymore.

But you know what? I have earned those lbs and lines. I have been a loving and supportive mom for over 24 years, loving wife, caring daughter and also built a successful business. I am proud of who I am and what I have accomplished and you know what, I should be. You should be too! We all have our journeys. So more difficult than others. But all should be celebrated.

What is your story or journey? You should be proud of what you have built, the wisdom you have gained and the struggles your have endured. Let's document it. Let's celebrate who you are now and how you got here!

You most likely have hidden behind the camera for decades photographing your family. It is time to step in front of the camera. Exist in photographs. Some day your family will look for photographs of you. What will they find?

The precursor to my 50 over 50 (not on purpose) has turned out to be the Headshot Mini Marathon. It was meant to just create powerful, authentic headshots. But then I saw women open up after having hair and makeup done and seeing their images instantaneously on my computer. I watched their confidence explode.

The Marathon is not only anopportunity to create confident, powerful headshots but also an insight into the real you... soft, casual, sporty, sexy... the authentic you.

Lorraine booked the marathon day last week looking for just a couple of solid business portraits. She was nervous when she arrived liked everyone else but we got her relaxed and we were off. She called me today just to say how happy she was that she took the leap. She wanted a new headshot but ended up with so much more!
